30min: A Short Guide to Writing Terrible QML

Event_large

QML is very easy to write. But is it easy to read?
It can be; but with the lack of forced types, scoping and private members, it's easy to fall into bad practices.

This talk covers the common QML anti-patterns that make your code incredibly difficult for your colleagues to edit.

KDE is in somewhat of an unique position with regards to writing software. We have code tens of years old being edited by hundreds of different people who have never met trying to acheive a constantly evolving goal..

In Plasma I've seen (and been part of) many people making their first steps in QML and have started to note what works well, and what appears to work, but tends to lead to problems down the line.
